THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT is no stranger to huge construction projects – in recent years alone, they’ve built the world’s longest sea bridge and the world’s highest railway.
But recently, sharp-eyed internet users have spotted a bizarre series of huge structures in the remote Gobi desert, close to the Mongolian border.
The strange shapes are located on the border of Gansu and Xinjiang provinces – an area which China uses for military, space and nuclear activity, according to the Daily Mail. Some appear to include the debris of destroyed vehicles, while another seems to have planes at its centre.
There has been speculation that the sites could be targeting ranges for missiles, the Telegraph reports. So what do you think?
